Stuart Maxwell, General Manager at our Cranleigh office regularly gives up his spare time to volunteer at the ABC animal sanctuary.
The ABC animal Sanctuary was founded by Alexandra Bastedo some 30 years ago. Alexandra is passionate about animal welfare and is a Patron of many charities. The aims of the ABC Sanctuary are to rescue abandoned animals and animals in distress. Upon arrival, the animals are quarantined, wormed and neutered. They are then restored to health and rehabilitated if possible before looking for a new home. If the animals are too old or have particular permanent special needs they are guaranteed a home for life. The sanctuary has grown from the original one donkey to over 150 animals ranging from donkeys, ponies, Shetlands, cats, pot bellied pigs and poultry.
For the first time ever the ABC Santuary will be opening its doors to members of the public from 11am – 4pm on Saturday 6th June and Sunday 7th June. Everyone is welcome to come and look around the sanctuary, meet the animals and see the good work that they do. Several celebrities, including Ed Stewart, Kate O’Mara and Lorraine Chase will be in attendance.
The ABC Sanctuary relies totally on donations and hopes that the open day will be a good fund raiser for the sanctuary. For more information on the sanctuary visit http://www.abcanimalsanctuary.co.uk/ or for more information on the actual open days visit
